curious
i don't think i'm a big music snob, though i can be at times, but i am most definitely a movie snob. everyone who's worked at rogers i think has turned into a movie snob if they weren't one before they started working there. you tend to describe people in movie terms. "he's like, one of those guys who's favorite movie would be lake placid 2." lol. every time i rented someone a movie, i was judging them on their movie taste. oops.
yesterday i was walkin around safeway in os waiting for my friends to be in the village. safeway had a bin of super cheap dvds so i started browsing and found the animatrix for $5! if you know me a little bit, you know i'm a fan of anime. in my top 50 fav movies would have to be spirited away and howl's moving castle. some people would judge me on my anime lovin...last night the movie snob became the snobbed! i brought the dvd to the check out and the cashier guy was close in age to me, looks at me says hi, looks down at the movie, looks back at me, looks back and the movie and breaks into a smile. i laughed and said "i know, i'm a nerd." he laughed and sent me on my way making sure to shout out "enjoy the movie!" anime is such a guilty please of mine, i always feel nerdtastic when browsing the anime section in hmv or movie village. it's just that people associate anime with guys like the comic book store guy from the simpsons. sigh.
question for anyone who's ever thought of me as "the innocent one", i'm curious as to why i put off this vibe? everyone i know, when they get to know me, always tells me how innocent they thought i was, etc. why why why? i'm not a bad ass or anything and i'm a pretty mild person, i rarely drink, i don't swear often, parents like me, i get it. but a lot of people are like that and i don't think they get labeled "innocent". it's not a bad label to have and it works to my advantage a lot when getting out of sticky situations lol, but i'm just curious as to why...if you could let me know that'd be fantastic.
