one of my really good friends natalie, is leaving for nepal today and will be gone for 8 months. it's really exciting, from what she's told me it sounds like she's going on an adventure/learning experience of a lifetime. i wish her a good/safe trip/flight!

four months til school's done. then i can go on an adventure.

do you want to hear about an amazing find i had today? i got a puzzle today for free. and i'm pretty sure all the pieces are there. and i'm pretty sure it's from italy (way back when). and i'm pretty sure its of one of my favorite paintings aka this one:

i also picked up several art magazines and textbooks as well as a huge jar of really neat beads at the same place i got the puzzle. all for free! the gallery i volunteer with also runs a project where people can drop off anything that they feel has a second life in it somewhere (you can find anything from thread, fabric, old magazines, art supplies etc, to broken electronics, working and non-working records, and literally hundreds of other things) and other people can come in and take whatever they want FOR FREE. the best part about it is that when you leave with your stuff, you fill out a sign-up sheet thing where you determine how many cubic ft of stuff you're taking with you. this form is then sent to the government showing how much "garbage" is being saved from going to the landfill each year. the more stuff that is being saved from the landfill, the more money in grants the place gets, and therefore the more hours they are available to be open and accept/give out art supplies! brilliant.

also, i dyed my hair today. it didn't turn out how i was expecting, but i think i'm starting to like it. it's a big change. i am no longer a bleach blonde. i'm somewhere between dirty blonde and light brown, more brown though than blonde i'd say. my heart freaked when i saw it (and not in a good way), but like i said...i think i'm getting used to it. it's fun to try something new.
