(ps: this dress has been selling out nonstop and they keep restocking it while i'm not looking, and then it sells out again. i saw they had restocked it and it was "low in stock" and within the two minutes of me clicking on it to buy and actually buying it, it had gone out of stock again, but i had snagged myself one in the nick of time!)

brighten up my life

new years resolution: wear more color!

i've pretty much always limited my clothing to black/white/grey. not on purpose, just happened. but this year, i'm making a conscious effort to bring more color into my life!

outfit post...sort of?

i'm trying to bring some more color into my life. this was a weak attempt. wore this, you know, out hunting with my tiger friend, aka school.

i look like i'm on my way to my first day of grade 1. braided hair and all. but whatever i kind of liked it. i'd just recently rediscovered that t-shirt and had also just remembered that that skirt came with suspenders.


i know clothes posts are boring, but that's fine with me, as i am bored right now. i should be doing school work. but i don't want to.

p.s: i usually don't wear heels because all my girl friends are barely over 5 ft tall, but i figure since most of my guy pals are 6 ft or taller, i'll be okay in those wedges, i'm about 5'10 or 5'11 in them lol yikes.

it took me probably about 30 or more tries to do this. i couldn't use my flash, and had to stay very very very still, which apparently i'm pretty much incapable of. but somehow i managed to stay still enough for it not to blur! i don't know how i want to frame this yet, like keep the moon in the center of the frame as it is now, or move it around in there. any suggestions?



p.s: so i get told A LOT that i look like taylor swift. and i mean A LOT. i don't really see it, i think it's mostly the hair. my mom's always telling me i should go on that look-a-like show, etc. well after getting told yet again that i look like t. swift, i checked out the look-a-like show's website and they're doing open casting calls in tornonto on may 2nd and 3rd. i'm thinkin about it now lol, it would be fun. even if i didn't make it through the auditions, a little trip to toronto never hurt anyone!

why didn't i think of this earlier...

halloween '09, i'm going as tank girl! no clue why i never thought to before, i think it would be such an easy costume to get together too. i'd obviously pick one of her other outfits to base the costume on, and not the one in the picture above....
i'm not sure if many people would figure out who i was, but if they do, bonus points and a hug for them.

in other news:
i saw vanessa's new apartment today and i'm officially jealous. it's huge and awesome. i can't wait til i can afford to move out. a bunch of my sisters friends work in offices that need tons of secretaries so i might be able to get a secretary job for the summer. we'll see.

back to writing essays for me. muah muah arf.

oh p.s: so at ness's place, vanessa's friend whitney and i were making chocolate fondue. whitney is 100% deaf and communicates by reading lips. i was busy stirring the fondue pot while whitney looked for matches or a lighter. she couldn't find anything. meanwhile vanessa and her friend chaz had gone for a walk to pick up or dinner. and this happened:

whitney: i can't find anything, do you know where it is?
me: hmm nope, can you call chaz and ask ness where it is?
whitney:...uh...ya, but uhm...you have to call, i can't use the phone
me: oh, ya right. duh!

uggggh. wicked lol. she's used to it though. everyone always forgets when we're at the bar that we cant lean in and whisper something in her ear, you have to talk to her face so she can see your lips. since she reads lips though, it's like having a super power, she can look at anyone at any distance and can tell you what they're saying. neat!

are any of these flattering? i don't think so. from the back they give you the biggest mum bum ever too. but that's just my opinion.

k this last one is not a jumpsuit i know, and i've actually seen these done really cute, and they look really comfortable because they're usually made out of jersey...but this one? yikes. just not flattering at all.

p.s: they had some moccasin shoes for $157 that look identical to ones we sell at my work that i can get for $30..i hate markups. i also hate how if it's by a big brand it costs more than if it's not brand name. i'll choose the cheaper non brand name one, it looks the same to me. and to everyone else.

i'm not a fan of erin wasson (on the left). she's the big new thing in modelling right now, but i just think she looks angry ALL the time. she's like the posh spice of the fashion world. you can be a model and smile, just look at heidi klum! now that's what i call a babe.

p.s: i'm hading to victoria in two weeks-ish to visit my oma/opa. kinda pumped. i haven't seen them in ages and i haven't been out of the peg since summer.

at my work, when goods are damaged and taking up too much room in the back of the store, we get dibs. today i got a skirt by eve gravel. someone had brought it in caz it was stained...this is true, but A) its hardly noticeable, and B) the skirts reversible so not a problem. i took a look at eve gravel's new stuff for the season. it's not bad, i'd wear it. my only problem is all her models are too skinny for the clothes. we had a bunch of her stuff in during the summer and they look way better on girls with curves.

life fail.

ugh. i failed so hard, so many times today... and it's only 3pm.

1) i get a call at 10:30 from work "lauren, where are you?"
-shit, i thought i didn't work today. i toss on some clothes and run out of the house five minutes later to catch my buses
2) i forget my cell at home
-i can't tell them i'm on my way
3) i show up at 11:30
- i'm an hour and a half late for work
4) my owner is there
-since she's there and it's slow, they cancelled my shift
5) they tried to call me but since i flew out of the house so fast and forgot my phone, they couldn't get a hold of me

so i said that's cool whatever, i went shoppin in os and then the mall. here come some more fails:

6) clumsy me dropped a ring at aldo and it broke...i didn't say anything though lol

7) after buying some stuff at the mall, i waited for my bus to come, it was late so i took a different one
-i forgot a bag of mine on the bus. fuck.

so i officially failed 7 times in about 3 hours. a new record perhaps? my head has just not been on right the past week. my god.

edit: FUCK YA! SUSAN FROM WINNIPEG TRANSIT I HOPE YOU HAVE THE MERRIEST FUCKING CHRISTMAS! susan (the lady at lost and found wpgtransit) called the bus and asked if the driver could protect my bag! and i will have it in about an hour!! lets just hope i don't fail yet again and miss that bus lol.

hey internet,
i'm feeling great. just thought i'd share.
christmas is soon. i've finished my exams. work is picking up. i'm feeling spontaneous. i have a craving for a new pet, a fat droopy rabbit right now or a bitchy cat, i'd be pretty pleased with either! i've been listening to my music a lot more now that i have the time! i miss reading and really want a good book. i think i'm getting the next two twilight books for xmas, well maybe, thats pretty much all i asked for lol i don't need anything right now! i've noticed two book shaped packages for me under the tree, but who knows what books they actually are. i think i'm one of the few kids who get pumped on getting books as presents. i'm such a nerd in so many respects. oh well, i think i'm gonna hunt around in my basement for my super nintendo stuff this week. stellar! i also might do some xmas baking, so if i like you, be warned, i will be fattening you up for the hollidays. i hope you all are doing lovely, and speak to you soon!!

cool, so major blonde moment today. i woke up at 6 caz my dad said he could give me a ride to my bus stop at 7 so i wouldn't have to take two buses to school for my exam today. i get there at 8, and am surprised to see no one else around the room. oh well. so i just close my eyes and nap for a little bit, wake up 20 min later. stil no one. wait til 8:40 and think shit, k where is everyone. i call my dad to get him to check the online exam schedule....my exam is at 9am on thursday the 11th. not today, the 9th. LAME. lol i'm such a dweeb. worst part is, i totally checked the schedule this morning to make sure i went to the right room...and the date and time is right next to the location on the schedule, so i totally scanned right over it and never noticed.

so with all hope lost, and already out and ready for the day. i decide to just go to the mall and finish my xmas shopping. to bad the mall doesn't open at 9. ugh. so i waited around and talked to my friend andrew. i also ran into amy, so it turned out to be ok.

except in the bus shack waiting for my bus home there were about 8 little kids and they were all starring at me. really freaked me out, i hate when people stare, makes me feel so uncomfortable! normally if kids stare at me, i just stare back, but i was outnumbered! gash!

good news of the day:
-xmas shopping done
-jenna is hilarious because of her response: "dale, stop being such a woman." (lol sorry dale, but it was such a jenna comment i had to laugh!)
-my winter coat keeps me warm (so far)
-i found a clutch i like
