lovely
i'm reading the book "the street of crocodiles and other stories" by bruno schulz for my film enchante class with guy maddin. it's really tough to read, because it's all very poetical. when i do get what's going on, i like it.
here's a blurb i thought was especially pretty:
"An enormous sunflower, lifted on a powerful stem and suffering from hypertrophy, clad in the yellow mourning of the last sorrowful days of its life, bent under the weight of its monstrous girth. But the naive suburban bluebells and unpretentious dimity flowers stood helpless in their starched pink and white shifts, indifferent to the sunflower's tragedy."
another quote i like, but this one is by W.S. Merwin:
"Your absence has gone through me like a thread through a needle. Everything I do is stitched with its color."
