i can't picture myself beyond 29.
i think as the younger sibling i was born to annoy and be a smart ass.
in a perfect world..

it would be warm and sunny all the time.
you could ride bikes year round.
if you didn't feel like working that day, you didn't have to.
i work in a gallery giving tours or just helping people enjoy art.
i could sew my own clothes.
i could do crafts all day if i wanted.
i had tons of paint and was talented enough to paint with them.
i could play the ukulele.
i had a lovely singing voice.
i was naturally blonde.
i never got zits.
no one fought, was mean, grumpy, or talked shit about other people.
we were all happy.
everyone knew what it was like to be in love.
i lived in my own cute apartment with a never ending supply of books.
everything had a pastel glow.
things were like how they felt.
everyone was naturally fit and people didn't die unexpectedly.

things i can realistically work on: working in a gallery, sew my own clothes, start gathering my own paints, learn how to play the ukulele, have my own cute apartment near a library (never ending supply of books). also, once i'm financially able and at the point in my life where i feel ready, i can move to some place without winter.
i feel like once my school is finished, i will have the freedom to do what i want. i may be sadly mistaken, but for now, that's how i feel.

i'm glad i'm an optimist. even when i feel so so shitty and do shitty things, i know things will get better. i believe in positive thinking and that working hard will produce positive results. i try to work past my flaws and try to remember to enjoy things and experience as much as i can.

so, i think if my calculations are correct, and if i take two online/distance ed. classes this summer, all that i will have left to do before i have what i need to graduate will be one field trip to chicago and then one art history class.

i'll graduate from uni with a degree after first term in december 2010. i'll have just turned 21.

whoa.

dream team

i read somewhere that you can only have dreams about things you know. (this is what i read in a list of "facts" about dreams: In our dreams, we only see faces that we already know. Our mind is not inventing faces – in our dreams we see real faces of real people that we have seen during our life but may not know or remember. We have all seen hundreds of thousands of faces throughout our lives, so we have an endless supply of characters for our brain to utilize during our dreams.)

therefore anyone who is in your dream who you've apparently never seen in real life actually is someone you've seen in real life. your mind picked up their image even if you were unaware of it. i don't really see how this is true. why wouldn't our brains be able to create a person from scratch that we've never met or seen (consciously or unconsciously) before? artists can create people out of their imaginations and create them as an image on canvas. why couldn't we do the same in dreams. i've also seen a lot of creatures, monsters, rooms, places, things, etc. in my dreams that do not exist in real life.

just a thought.

the past three nights i've been having the strangest creepiest dreams. i've decided to keep a dream journal, see if i can figure any of them out. look for similarities.

nipples

it's odd that as long as a woman's nipples are covered by something, it's like she's not REALLY topless. almost, but not quite.

if i ever got a sleeve, i would be perfectly happy with this one. so beautiful. i think i'm going to be a crazy bird lady when i get old. like the chick from home alone 2. i'll walk the parks with bird seed over flowing from my pockets.

this video is fantastic! ready, able by grizzly bear, directed by allison schulnik.
i may be biased because i love her hobo clown painting and i think it's wicked that she's brought it to life.
