(p.s: the image is steve buscemi in the movie delirious. i haven't seen it, the commercial makesit look interesting, but it only got 6.6/10 on imdb. has anyone seen it?)

these are a few of my favorites

so on imdb, i see there's a new trailer for guy madden's new film "my winnipeg", curious, i clicked on the link to watch it and got the message "this video is not avalible in your country"...REALLY?!

Photobucket
somehow kurt cobain got a hold of one of daniel johnstons tee's while daniel was in a mental institution, and daniel's popularity went insane! (no pun intended)
in other movie news, i wacthed the devil and daniel johnston. i think if you know who he is/listen to his music, you'd like the documentry. i'm not super familliar with it, so even though he's had an interesting and lucky life, i wasn't very drawn into it.

symmetry at its finest

the other day while creeping my fair share of fashion blogs, i came across a post about the model gemma ward. i looked at her and thought she was really, really pretty. they (who "they are, i'm not too sure...but "they" know everything don't they), say that the more symmetrical someones face is, the more beautiful people think that that person is. curious, i tried this on a straight-on photo of gemma ward, and honestly, you can barely tell the difference. its insane, and she's officially beautiful.

p.s: i made run to chapters today for a magazine fix. for the two i grabbed it came to 30$ whch makes me kind of sad. but it was worth it! mags of choice for today:
Photobucket
(didn't realize it was brit vogue til, actually, two minutes ago. doesn't mater too much though)
Photobucket
(funnily enough, i dindt realy look at this one before i bought it and thought it was called london calling...:) i've never seen this one before, but i liked the cover so thought i'd give it a go. for magazines, i strictly buy them based on the cover and section they're in. aka section has to either be "art" "culture" "fashion" or a mix of the three X)

let rumble

almost two weeks and no postage?! what up with that? honestly: nothing. i've been being incredibley boring.

a few nights ago kelsey and i went to the kings head and ran into a few friends. it was pretty good, we danced the night away.

last night the two of us went out to get some sushi
Photobucket
it was pretty delicious. we felt like the biggest dorks though because our knowledge of sushi is less then exstensive, so we literally guessed, and randomly picked good ones. at dinner we also decided that pickled ginger smells like henna tattoos. we got three different kinds of rolls, one of them had fish eggs in them, which i pointed out to kelsey as soon as she ate one, she gagged haha. she said that was the one thing she didnt want to eat. i liked it though, i ate all the little nemos.

i watched the movie crank finally. it was entertaining for sure. both shawn and dale at work, as i was renting it said "best sex scene ever". dale described it as "every man's fantasy". so i was expecting it to be this hardcore rough and wild, hot and heavy, super fast rough sex scene. well....kind of, turns out he screws his girlfriend in the middle of china town with a million people watching. when he can't get it up, he pushes her against the newspaper box thing and after noticing a bus full of asian school girls, he gets it up and fucks her silly, that is until he answers his phone mid way and then leaves lol. uhm, really dale? every male's fantasy? ok, if you says so.

so, some random window repair guy is at my house right now, and im kind of creeped out because im home alone with him. he's very nice, but its kind of awkward. my gma was supposed to be here for when they came, but they're two hours early and i can't get a hold of her. i was just about to head out when they came :(

today, once my gma gets here, i plan on going to the paint store and finding the color i want to paint my room. i found osme wallpaper the other day that im using to cover one of my walls. its textured wallpaper so you can paint over it for different looks. the color i'm thinking of doing is a greeny blue, but a really pale version. im kind of worried it may turn out hospital color. i originally wanted to paint my room the exact same color it was at the old house (pinky/purple) but my mom has convinced me otherwise :P. also today i want to go to chapters and pick out a few lovely fashion mags, as well as check out the library for a good read.

there was a pterodactyl (aka goose) on my roof the other day, and it left muddy footprints. i find this amusing.

oh and updates on the 30day shred...i'm a lazy bastard and only did it once. i just hate working out! i've been craving to bike down to the forks, but i hate the wind, especially when i'm on a bike, and its been really windy lately so i havent gone.

hark, who goes there?!

so today i started the 30day shred workout dvd. i don't know why i was thinking it would be really lame and really easy. i was so wrong! i'm already sore, i'm kind of scared to see how my muscles (ha) will be like tomorrow, i'm going to ache! jeez i think im really out of shape, apparently biking does nothing.

today i also finished watching all seasons of the mighty boosh. super funny. haha i think i've been watching it too much, the other night i had a dream about me, vince noir (from the show) and marcus...erm ya anyway..
another funny brit show: nevermind the buzzcocks. the host is pretty mean, but hey its all in good fun right? right. last show i watched he made someone really pissed and hey walked off the show, so they just grabbed some random from the audience who looked like they guy haha.

i'm going out for dinner with amanda in a bit and i'm excited, i haven't seen her in ages. sucks that a lot of my good friends have moved away. amanda lives in halifax, cassi moved outside of the city somewhere (i literally don't even know where lol), and calum's moving to vancouver to be with his gf in august :( plus every sumer laura leaves for 2+ months, usualy to her house boat, this time she wnet to live with her folks in mexico. oh and not to mention my boyfriend is off living in another continent. thank god for work (and work friends)/kelsey, i don't know what i'd be doing other wise. lol well i guess i would be doing the 30 day shred...

i'm looking for a good read, any suggestions? i think i may try "the man who was thursday: a nightmare" by g.k. chesterton. someone at somepoint told me to read it so i wrote it down. has anyone ever heard of the book/author?

i spy with my little eye...

these are some things...

Photobucket
graffiti from one of the tunnels in my school. i think its funny, not sure why.

Photobucket
Photobucket
view from my window. we just moved and my entire street is a construction zone. one of the houses they're currently working on is the one next door. when the scoopy truck (lol can't think of its name right now) in the picture comes, it literally shakes our entire house. feels like an earthquake! my dog hates it.

Photobucket
this is jewel, she's the cutest when she sleeps. she had to get all her teeth pulled out so when she's up and about, her tounge always hangs out of her mouth, it's pretty ridiculous.

Photobucket
this is my new hat, which is also semi-ridiculous. i like it.

look into our eyes we can see your future look into our eyes we can see your soul

so i found this dvd at work the other day and i'm super tempted to buy it. i don't have money to do a gym membership, and i don't know what to do when i work out alone, so here comes jillian michaels from the biggest loser to help me shed up to 20lbs in 30 days! no way! lol, i havent bought it yet, but i probably will...

Photobucket

marcus got me into this random british comedy show called the mighty boosh. it's so ridiculous, makes me laugh at the weirdest things. i'm working my way through all the episodes starting in season 2. well i thought i was, but i just watched ep2 which i thought i'd already seen but i think it was actually from season 3 that i saw...either way...funny show, get into it if you know whats good for you. a little british charm never hurt anyone.

i hate when people get on my case for not drinking or continuously ask me hoping i'll cave in and say yes to their offers. i'm not against alcohol, and it's not like i never drink. just if i feel like drinking i will, if i don't then leave me alone. gee whiz folks, socializing is still fun when you're totally sober.

i be illin

boo i'm sick. i haven't been hit this hard by a cold in ages. it's litrally a "i need to be sleeping/lying in bed doing nothing allllllllll day" kind of cold. unluckily for me, i have to do in to work at 3-11:30. at least i'm working with the cool kids tonight, aka the hassel stache and craigboy.

we have a contest at work right now, if everyone collectively sells 100 of some membership cards we're promoting, one of our managers shawn, will shave off his goatee into a nasty perv stache (now known as the hassel stache):

hello pms

sometimes i imagine scenarios of fights we might have and all the hurtful things we might say and not mean. then i feel really guilty about being a bitch in these imaginary situations and want to apologize for something that never happened.
i almost started crying today because you were being a jerk in one of these arguments, when i reminded myself i was making the whole thing up.

occasionally, being a girl is silly.

sharks have several rows of teeth

i just picked up the book the raw shark texts by steven hall from the library a day or so ago and i'm already 1/3 through. i'd been stalking it at my school's book store all year, but the $32 price scared me away. i hate buying books if they tunr out to be shitty. therefore, the ibrary is a wonderful thing! anyway, so far i think the book is pretty neat. kind of a philosophical/fantasy/sci-fi/fiction book. hmm lets try that again, i'm pretty horrible at describing books so with amazon.com's help:

"Eric Sanderson has lost his memory, his girl, his life as he once knew it. His pre-amnesiac self is sending him letters, a sort of correspondence course on how to be Eric Sanderson. Unfortunately, this previous self didn't really have it all together either. This is too bad, because the source of all the trouble is a conceptual shark, a Ludovician shark, no less. Soon Eric is on the run, trying to piece it all together and find true love before his mind gets wiped by the shark for the twelfth and probably final time.

Steven Hall is an inventive, funny and extremely smart writer. I am a letterpress printer and a typophile, and I was drawn to his book because of the typography: The Raw Shark Texts is riddled with typographic games, codes, a flip book, and a boatload of very elegant plot devices that hinge on collisions between the Information Age and the imagination. At one point Eric and Scout, his guide/love interest, are speeding away from the conceptual shark on a motorbike. Scout eludes the shark by exploding a letter bomb, a bomb made out of old metal type; the type diverts the shark into a stream of random letterforms. At this I practically fell off the couch with admiration.

There's plenty to groove on in The Raw Sharks Texts even if you're not a type maven. There's echoes of Cyberpunk, Borges, Auster; there is adventure on the high seas, lost love, an exploration of what it means to be human in the age of intelligent machines. The Raw Sharks Texts is huge fun, and I gleefully recommend it."

i normally don't like reccomending books before i finish them in case they, you know, turn into awful messes of babble. but hey, i'm going to be a little wild and say go ahead and give it a try. i'll give my opinion when i finish it if you don't feel like being adventurous.

on a side note:

last night i went to transformers with some friends and it was pretty awesome. i'm exhausted today though. i danced for five hours straight. i liked the atmosphere because everyone was so caught up in themseleves, you could litrally dance/dress/etc any way you wanted and it just fit.

another side note:

i was looking through old pictures, and its crazy how much a person can change (i'm talking about the exterior not in interior). like this one guy i know, i barely recognize him! i was showing a friend who had just met him recently a picture of the guy from a year ago, they almost didn't believe me it was the same person. weird.

which brings my train of thought to this (not saying the guy above is one of these people, but just saying kind of randomly i suppose):

you know when your driving or walking in a sketchy area of town and someone scary lookin walks by and you lock your doors? i always feel bad, caz like what if they hear the doors lock and they're just like "shit, really? i'm one of those people you lock the doors when you see?". :( buuuut i'm a wuss, so even though i feel bad, i'm still gonna lock my doors. any of you who have seen me trying to fight (well, play fight, i don't fight), you know what i'm talking about.
