the brothers bloom.
i just watched it. i really really enjoyed it for the first few acts, but then the film started to mess with me and by the end of the film, i had decided i didn't like it that much. the ending made sense and fit well with the film, but it changed the tone of the movie. basically i liked it until it started to get too serious. also it felt like it should have ended way before it did.
the female characters took the cake in this film. although the character bang bang pretty much didn't speak, she was hilarious. obviously i fell in love with adrien brody's character too, but then sort of fell out of love with him by the end.
huh. i thought i saw joseph gordon-levett at one point in the background of the film and i got really excited, but then he didn't show up again so i thought i must be imagining things. just did a little research and i was right, he made a dialogue-less cameo. apparently the cast of brick (joseph gordon-levett, nora zehetner and noah segan) are all in that party scene and the director stuck them in because they were visiting the set at the time and he found it sort of fitting to have the cast of one con movie colliding in a party of con artists in another con film. intriguing.
