where's the rainbows and butterflies?

remind me next school year not to take a lot of disturbing subjects in one term. essay writing has not been cheery.

essay one: of the film c.r.a.z.y a coming of age story. easy peasy, not a big deal.
essay two: about the fusion of sexuality and death in horror films. mostly talked about zombies, necrophilia, etc. kinda twisted.
essay three: art history paper about rogier van der weyden's last judgement altarpiece for my art and death course. so basically i talked about the rising dead, dying people, the apocolypse and hell.
essay four: basically about evil in relation to a child in a family situation. i'll be talking a lot about rebellious teens in the exorcist and carrie, the horrors of childbearing in the omen and rosemary's baby, and how adults fear children because they expose the flaws in adult society.

yup, cheery subjects.
i think i should take a course next term on everything wonderful.
no more gruesome stuff for me for a while thanks.

in my euro horror class, we just watched the movie The Beyond and in it is a scene where for whatever reason, tarantula's crawl out of a fireplace and then slowly eat a man's face off. it's was gross.
the weird thing about the horror film class is how much everyone laughs during the movies. mostly because they get pretty ridiculous and we're all desensitized now i guess. if the reaction of my class to certain gore scenes in a film was taken out of context, we would all appear so twisted lol.
my death in art proff welcomed us into the course by saying "well aren't you a twisted bunch". lol it's a super interesting course.
